Teams of fourth- and fifth-grade boys participated in the Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics contest.
During the competition, the boys worked in teams to complete four different rounds of problem-solving against teams from the greater Cleveland area. The US teams earned three Trophy Awards, three Champion Awards, and one Rising Star Award.
The boys spent weeks preparing and learning about the requirements for each task in the four different rounds, practicing working as a team, and building confidence working under time pressure. During the competition, they worked as a team to complete four different rounds of problem-solving and competed against twenty other teams from around the greater Cleveland area.
