In January, seventh and eighth-grade students participated in the annual Junior Model United Nations conference at John Carroll University, assuming roles as delegates from United Nations countries to debate and collaborate with peers from 17 area schools. Since October, they’ve prepared with their advisor Mrs. Bridgette Nadzam-Kasubick by studying parliamentary procedure, researching global issues, and honing public speaking and negotiation skills.
Honorable Mention Delegation awards went to Andrew Freeman ’30 and David VanDercar ’30 (Cuba), Simon Bahl Prosak ’30 and Anwar Wazni ’29 (Sudan), and Jackson Kline ’29 and Bryce Prempeh ’30 (Libya). Ruhan Chhabra ’29 and Jack Levy ’29 (Japan) earned a Superior Delegation award, while Sam Streem ’29, partnered with Adam Miller ’29 (India), received the prestigious Gavel Award!
In February, the Middle School Junior Model United Nations team received the Best Large School Delegation Award from the Cleveland Council on World Affairs! This accolade recognizes the outstanding performance and collective excellence of a school's delegation during the conference.
