Seven US boys qualified for the finals of the MathCON competition! These students surpassed 47,281 competitors across 43 states in the qualifying exam, and the top 1% were invited to Chicago for the national finals this past weekend: Neel Agarwal '20, Dylan Laurianti '19, Gary Huang '21, Vincent Chen '21, Henry Michaelson '20, Rohan Krishnamurthi '21, and Nathan Mu '22.
The boys competed with 900 students in the finals and five boys earned Honorable Mention and placed in the Top 20: Dylan Laurianti, Gary Huang, Vincent Chen, Henry Michaelson, and Rohan Krishnamurthi. TheMathCONfinal competition is a 100-minute timed test comprising 40 multiple-choice questions and student constructed responses covering a range of mathematical disciplines.
While in Chicago the boys and their teacher and coach Mitch Strachan had a chance to do some sightseeing.
