The Class of 2021 made US history with an outdoor commencement ceremony on the US athletic fields. The graduates processed from the school through the woods and the Scovil Field arch to the football field where they were greeted by applause from their teachers and families. After a welcome by Head of School Patrick Gallagher, Towner Clements '21 and Toussaint Miller '21 gave their reflections about their years at US. The ceremony featured speaker Dr. Claudia Hoyen, MD, director of Pediatric Infection Control at University Hospitals, who spoke to the assembled about her confidence in the graduates' ability to meet the challenges of the future and make it a better world. The ceremony finished with the awarding of prizes and diplomas.
Graduation awards were presented to Karson Baldwin, who received the Cadmean Award; Justin Flamm, who received the Aurelian Award; Ricky Radtke, who received the Potts Award; Drew Schlegel, who received the Staples Award; and Rohan Krishnamurthi, who received the Alumni Medal.
