"Coolest Crystal" Growers
Two teams of sixth-grade scientists in Mrs. Slye's science classes earned national recognition.
Sixth-graders Jayce Souza, Milo Weber, and Charlie Gale won first place in the Coolest Crystal category in the 2023 United States Crystal Growing Competition (final results were just announced for last fall's competition).
Two more sixth graders, Bryce Prempeh and Oliver Streem, earned third place in the same Coolest Crystal category. The teams grew the crystals in their science class under the guidance of Mrs. Slye.
