We are excited to have our students, faculty, and staff back on campus for another amazing year.
Our annual Handshake Ceremony marked the start of the school year, with blue blazers lining the paths at Shaker and Hunting Valley. This cherished tradition allows the US community to personally meet and welcome new students and new faculty on each campus.
Welcome Assembly
On Tuesday, August 20, Upper School students gathered in Gund Auditorium to begin the school year with the first of many Assemblies. Head of School Patrick Gallagher addressed the school community with a welcome message reflecting on our mission. Mr. Gallagher reminded students of the choice and privilege to be a part of the US community, emphasizing that this active choice comes with active responsibility.
"Your choice is evident in your attitudes and habits, in your personal dos and don’ts. And don’t just be here – do be prepared, be involved, be positive."
On Wednesday, August 21, Mr. Gallagher echoed this message to Lower and Middle School students at the Shaker Campus, accompanied by a reading of What If Everybody Did That? by Ellen Javernick with the book’s pages displayed for all to see.
