University School offers opportunities for students to explore business challenges through the Malkin CupStudent Investment Committee, Stock Market Challenge, JA Titan, Business Roundtable, Junior Entrepreneur Club (E-Club), Social Innovators Club, Gummy Bear Club, and Kidpreneur Club.
Upper School
The Malkin Cup competition helps students learn the basics of a business plan. While developing their own ideas, students attend workshops to enhance their entrepreneurial skills. The competition culminates with a final oral presentation before a panel of judges from the Cleveland business community.

A select group of students, the Student Investment Committee, manages a portion of University School’s investment portfolio.

Each year, over 150 students participate in EconomicsAmerica-sponsored Stock Market Challenge.

JA Titan is an online business simulation from Junior Achievement. Titan challenges students to apply their knowledge of business as they compete online in the highly competitive industry of the fictional Holo-Generator. Students enter decisions about price, production, marketing, capital investment, and research and development. The impact of their decisions will lead to the success or failure of each Holo-Generator company. Titan is used by high schools around the world. University School has been a top three finisher in regional and national Titan competitions.

Students may join the Business Roundtable for lively monthly discussions about business-related topics.
