The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars and the U.S. Department of Education have selected University School seniors Justice Arai and Kareem Fareed as candidates in the 2024 United States Presidential Scholars Program.
The program was established in 1964 by the Executive Order of the President to recognize our nation's most distinguished graduating seniors for their accomplishments in academic success, leadership, and service. In 1979, it expanded to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional scholarship and talent in the visual, creative, and performing arts. In 2015, the program expanded again to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical fields.
