The Upper School Academic Challenge team of Cehan Ahmad '25, Theo Dengler '25, and Niklas Rietsch '25 appeared on the Nordson Academic Challenge program on WEWS in April, where they captured first place with a final score of 675 points.
The team built on this success and earned a third-place finish at the regional competition to secure their invitation to the national showdown. The team—represented by Cehan Ahmad ’25, Theo Dengler ’25, Vishaan Patel ’26, and Niklas Rietsch ’25—traveled to Atlanta over Memorial Day weekend to compete in the High School National Championship Tournament.
More than 320 teams participated. University School finished with a record of 5-5 and placed 148th overall, narrowly missing the playoffs but nevertheless improving from last year’s finish. Mr. Gallagher accompanied the team and supported them throughout the competition weekend's events.
