Visitors Speak About Civil Discourse

Shaker Heights Mayor David Weiss joined a Lower School assembly to talk with students about democracy and local government. Fourth graders Parker, Neil, and Eakam asked insightful questions about leadership, community, and his job as mayor.

The Middle School social studies department launched the special elections unit with a Q&A session featuring US alumni Ohio State Representative Steve Demetriou ‘07 and Councilman Eric Synenberg ‘97. Moderated by Mrs. Nadzam-Kasubick, they discussed campaigning, elections, and the importance of civil discourse.

Dan Moulthrop, CEO of the The City Club of Cleveland, joined our Upper School assembly to share the history of the City Club, discuss the importance of civil discourse, and emphasize the necessity of exercising our right to vote. His presentation continues our school-wide conversations on fostering productive and respectful dialogue.
