Golf Swings to Seventh at States

Varsity Golf finished a very strong season by placing seventh at the Division 1 State Championship. The team earned first at the Sectional Tournament and third at the District Tournament. Jackson Pinney '25, Ethan Roberts '25, and Adam Sands '25 served as team captains.

The team welcomed new coaches this year, Head Coach Aaron Sayre, Upper School Learning Specialist, and Assistant Coach Brendan Daly, Upper School Chemistry Teacher. 

Captain Jackson Pinney '25 was named the News-Herald Golfer of the Year for his outstanding and consistent post-season play. Read the News-Herald article here. New Head Coach Aaron Sayre was also featured in the local press and shared his thoughts and plans for this new role, including building depth in the golf program by encouraging more students to try out. Senior caption Ethan Roberts shared this about this exceptional golf season. “The best moments from this year were created because of the family we were able to build on the team. Instead of a team of 5 individual players, we were one operating unit. That’s what made this season so incredible and made each practice, team dinner, late night round, and tournament special, memorable, and a true highlight each and every day.”
