Three times a year, those in our community receive a special delivery from University School.

The Journal celebrates the accomplishments of our students, faculty & staff, and alumni, and highlights our major seasonal events. It includes feature stories that go in-depth on unique aspects of our curriculum and community. The Journal is published twice a year.

Historians recognize Boston Latin School, founded in 1635, as America’s first public school. Yet America’s first private school, Collegiate School, came first, in 1628 in the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam, in what is today New York City. America’s independent schools predate American independence.
